Obviously, it's a difficult show to get into. A man who can revive the dead but only for one minute before somebody else dies but if he touches them again they die permanently goes around waking up murder victims to find the killers and get the reward but out of possible selfishness brings his childhood crush back to life. If you followed any of that, Pushing Daisies is for you.
The show's real strengthm in the tradition of Roald Dahl (and later the Harry Potter books) was to establish a sugary, over-the-top environment that belies a dark underbelly. The second season considerably expanded on this, bringing in characters from an earlier generation in the hopes of establishing a multiple-season arc. Alas, it was not to be. Cancelled in the second season, the show's writers scrambled to tie up loose ends, but the result was ultimately quite anticlimactic. So I'm not rating it as high as Firefly, but definitely higher than Andy Richter Controls the Universe.
Next time: Andy Richter returns to television and Damian Lewis gets his Life back.
